DinnerBuds
Young adults perpetually seek to expand networks, whereas people aged 40+ desire more work friends. Social bonds at work directly impact happy productive workforce establishment. Despite globalisation trends, forming personal relationships has become increasingly difficult and loneliness is common. Despite excellent resources such as associations aplenty, many people working in foreign environments do not optimally utilise these opportunities. They find it difficult to integrate for several reasons, i.e. language strangeness, cultural differences or simply not knowing anyone. Our challenge is to improve well-being, increase human connection and decrease loneliness.
This is where we come in: Providing a platform to help people social network over dinner. We are designing an online application to connect people within work and study environments that share interests over dinner. Making friends or attaining new acquaintances increases self-esteem and acceptance, thus facilitating more output. Rather than focusing on home cook side hustles, our UVP regards social aspects with an emphasis on bringing users from work communities together for social bonding and sharing the load of preparing a meal. As we say at DinnerBuds: Meet. Eat. Repeat.
