KEY PROBLEMS University is a critical period in a person's life. Teenagers become adults, take responsibility for their lives and are faced with balancing personal, academic and professional life for the first time. We students face important decisions that will dictate the future of their lives, such as what study to follow and what career path to take. Students must also define their dream careers and lives. Unfortunately, universities currently do not have the resources and support systems for personal, professional, and academic development as a whole picture. They cannot support large numbers of students on a consistent week to week basis. CURRENT SOLUTIONS Currently, students have access to support from career counsellors, study advisors, student psychologists, and external solutions such as online courses and private coaching. However, these are too expensive and difficult to apply and personalize to student life. Finally, students interested in coaching typically have to invest large quantities of money and time in becoming certified before they can even experience the profession and decide whether it is suitable for them.

VALUE PROPOSITION: The Essentials Academy specializes in providing personalized solutions for students' personal, academic, and professional development in the University environment. We do this by delivering personalized workshops, supported by semester-long one on one and group coaching programs that reach large populations of University students. COACH TRAINING PROGRAM The Essentials Academy does this by training students through our student coach training program to support other students' development. Our training program combines expert coaches and workshops. This also provides students interested in coaching with an accessible opportunity to experience the profession and decide whether it is suitable. ESSENTIALS RESOURCE DATABASE We fuel our coaching and training programs using our Essentials Database, which categorizes coaching, personal, academic, and professional development resources based on their success rates when used by our coaches and their clients.
