Solar Energy Efficiency Improvement
In today's market, there has been a shift towards renewable energy with solar energy being at the forefront of solutions needed to make the transition. The challenge is that most solar panels in production today have an efficiency that does not exceed 22% which means that only a fraction of the energy is captured and transformed into energy. There is a big lag in that aspect.
The solution for this particular problem would be first of all understanding how 3D modeling and placement and arrangements of solar panels can influence their capabilities to better absorb and reflect light. A second phase of the solution that would need to be explored is the use of concentrators regarding to solar panels in order to allow solar cells to receive a concentrated energy source which could provide a better output. A third phase would be innovation in the way that solar panels and cells are built while incorporating the newest multi junction cell technology as well as the two previously mentioned phases of the process.
